The Scooty & JoJo Show
CARPENTERS HALLOWEEN
October 14 through November 7, 2009, at Mary's Attic

Chicago, IL - The Scooty & JoJo Show launched itself onto the unsuspecting Chicago public in 2007 with CARPENTERS HALLOWEEN, a spine-shivering send-up of John Carpenter's slasher classic set to the The Carpenters' classic songs.  The "surprise cult hit" (Chicago Tribune) is back for its third engagement, complete with its 2008 cast and band members!  In response to sold-out houses and ecstatic press notices the past two years,   Scott Bradley and Jonny Stax (aka Scooty & JoJo) return to Mary's Attic this fall to share with you this very sweet and bloody love letter to their favorite Carpenters - John, Karen and Richard.

CARPENTERS' HALLOWEEN opens October 14, and runs through November 7, playing Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8pm.  All shows are at Mary's Attic, 5400 N. Clark St., Chicago, IL.  Tickets: $15-$20.  For tickets, visit scootyjojo.com.

OPENING/PRESS NIGHT IS WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14, AT 8PM.

CARPENTERS HALLOWEEN is a twisted, camped-up musical tribute to John Carpenter's original horror classic about a disturbed young man who disfigures a William Shatner mask and then turns his knife on hot teenage babysitters one Halloween night, 1978.  Plain but pretty Laurie Strode, with her lonely longings for love, along with her two frisky girlfriends, in all their budding sexuality, learn quickly that the road to romance is not a smooth ride.  How better to reflect the conflicted feelings of young love and slashed hope in the '70s than with the musical stylings of Karen and Richard Carpenter?

THE SCOOTY & JOJO SHOW launched its first season in the fall of 2007 with CARPENTERS HALLOWEEN.  An entertainment company devoted to inventive programming, their cabaret season continued with THANK GOD! IT'S THE SCOOTY & JOJO SHOW, an evolving 70s-style variety show, followed in 2008 with TRAN - The Atari Musical, THE SCOOTY & JOJO VARIETY HOUR, their highly-acclaimed musical tribute to the John Hughes/Molly Ringwald films of the 1980s, MOLLYWOOD, and the second year of CARPENTERS HALLOWEEN.  In 2009, they teamed up with The Spot Restaurant in Uptown to create DIVA BRUNCH, a weekly cabaret brunch that ran from March to August.

Before launching The Scooty & JoJo Show in 2007, co-creator Scott Bradley was best known in Chicago as director of Hell in a Handbag's The Birds and Caged Dames, and for his performance as Prior Walter in The Hypocrites' Angels in America.  His fellow creator Jonny Stax served as band leader for The Game Show Show & Stuff and laid down finger-stylings in Marathon 33, both at Strawdog Theater Company.  As a cabaret and theatrical team, Scooty & JoJo have performed in New York, Seattle and, most impressively, Des Moines, IA.
